Kempinski Hotel Das Tirol

A large hotel with a pleasant design, modern style is well mixed with traditional mountain village interior elements. Spacious rooms. The Superior Room was pleasantly decorated and of sufficient size. I liked that the toilet was separate from the bathroom. Large balcony. Nice view from the window. The outdoor pool was of a good size and there was enough space for swimming. There were enough sun loungers. The pool was the only place where the staff was constantly present and kept it tidy. There is also a smaller pool inside, which is connected to the outdoor pool. Saunas are for nudists only. There are not many parking spaces in front of the hotel (considering the size of the hotel), but you can also park in the lot right next to it. The hotel also has an underground parking lot, but I think it is paid. The service was lacking, both at the reception and at breakfast. Although we arrived at 17:00 during the day, there was no one to greet us at the door and only 1 receptionist was present. We had to lift our suitcases out of the car ourselves, load them onto a trolley and take them to the room. No one introduced us to the room and the hotel and no explanations were given. When we left in the morning, the porter was there, but he did not help us load the suitcases into the car and only wished us a good trip. There is no receptionist welcoming guests at breakfast and no one explains anything. Unfortunately, it was only when we were sitting at the table with full plates that we noticed that there was a menu on the table and that we could have ordered a la carte meals. The lack of service was the biggest surprise for a 5-star hotel of an international chain. I took one star off my rating for the lack of service. I did not understand the principle of regulating the ventilation in the room, but the cold air did not come from there and I have the feeling that there is no air conditioning. In the evening, the bathroom started to smell very strongly and unpleasantly (the smell of sewage), fortunately by morning the smell had disappeared.

A beautiful hotel in the best location. The entire staff is exceptionally attentive, friendly, and accommodating. The breakfast is a true dream – abundant, high-quality, and with a wide selection. We were particularly impressed by the wellness area: very beautifully designed, well-maintained, and perfect for relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would gladly return. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We stayed at this hotel in 2022 and were very satisfied at that time. This stay was all the more disappointing. Especially the restaurant was forgettable. Catastrophic. The food on the first night would be better in any two-star hotel. Things also went wrong at breakfast. You could only get coffee immediately and hot with luck; usually, it was lukewarm after about 15-20 minutes, as were the ordered eggs. In the bathroom, you can see that nothing is being repaired or renewed anymore, just like in the sauna, where there used to be normal water, mostly with lemon or mint as refreshment. The only bright spot in this messed-up hotel was and is the Lady in Red, Ms. Pauline Hobbhahn. Very dedicated, she ensures that she keeps the guests entertained despite all the shortcomings. Great!
