Penzinghof

This was already our third stay at Penzinghof - both as a couple, as well as with children, as well as an extended family with grandma and grandpa we each felt very comfortable. The Penzinghof impresses with exceptionally good service, excellent food and a lot of coziness. If the local mountain is snowed (no snow guarantee) you have a great ski-in / ski-out experience with beautiful slopes for children and adults - otherwise connection to "KitzSki".. While the food (both the exceptionally good breakfast buffet and the dinner menu) squints towards 5* level, the spa area is comparatively small / restrained, but still a nice balance to skiing and hiking. A special feeling is given by the family-owned farm, the connections to South Styrian vineyards - great for children on the one hand, and the certainty of the regional products on the table on the other! We have already returned twice and will continue to come in the future!

We stayed with our two little girls for 3 nights in the Penzinghof. The hotel scores with a great location right next to the slopes and gondola. Furthermore, it is great that the lift bike (hut) is connected directly to the hotel and offers typical good hut food. The hotel itself and the rooms are very stylishly decorated and the breakfast and dinner scores with high quality. UNFORTUNATELY, a big downside is the service in the restaurant area (both breakfast and dinner), the plates have just piled up and nobody thought of dumping. We had already stacked them and deliberately pushed them to the edge of the table, but that didn't help either. Once you had finally drawn attention to this, you were more likely to encounter incomprehension. Drinks were also not pro-actively included and the evening menu was not explained to one. So it was the case with us that we had not been served dessert for the first 2 days. Not until 3. Day we were served (more by chance) one, which was very good though. All the more shame, of course, that this was not served pro-actively. In my view, the reason is partly because of an understaffing but also because of the courteousness of the staff. Here I definitely expect more in this price range, as this is the category we like to book and expect a corresponding service here (or that are also familiar from comparable hotels) Unfortunately, this experience (because it was also the case every day) has unfortunately diminished the entire experience.

Through a recommendation from friends we became aware of the Penzinghof. We spent our family holiday here and it couldn't have been nicer! • everything looks very familiar • you are warmly welcomed and on a welcome board the surname is already written • Food is really great, starting with the really excellent breakfast, with lots of choice and great regional quality • we used the half board once (we could decide spontaneously / book this) and the buffet in the evening also more than convinced • Pool area is very clean and well maintained • also the bathing pond and here there is also a small one for children, as well as a playground and large lawn • at the pool and dining area there is hexagonally treated water • you can rent a buggy for free • there are enough and attentive staff everywhere, you do not wait long at the reception or in the restaurant, everyone is on fire at breakfast and it is constantly refilled, cleared and cleaned - all with a friendly smile :-) and as a last point, since we have lived in the new “the Luis” Penthouse apartment, I can only praise here finally the perfect decor and beautiful apartment, here everything was thought of, it was absolutely clean and very high quality, overlooking the wild Emperor and the love Maria, who has welcomed us so warmly. This made our holiday more than perfect! We are looking forward to next time. ❤️
