Hotel Goldener Loewe

The house is quite aged. Initially, we were assigned a room that did not match the booked category and was below any standard: Very old, worn out, and smelling bad. The stairwell and hallway are also equipped with very old carpet that is very dirty and smells. After a complaint, we were assigned the booked, renovated room. This room was renovated but poorly cleaned. Hair on the floor, bedding with holes. Okay for one night, but unfortunately not up to expectations. The location is excellent!

On my trip to Verona, I made a stopover here. The hotel is located in the old town, and the train station is reachable in 10 minutes. The staff at the reception and during breakfast were all very friendly. However, my room was quite outdated. There were scuff marks and scratches from luggage all over the walls. In the shower, warm water only came after 2-3 minutes, and the refrigerator in the room did not work. Overall, not a good hotel where one would like to spend more than one night.

The Golden Lion is not a new hotel and here and there something is getting old. The best part is definitely the location: Fortress, Kufstein's pedestrian zone, Innufer etc. everything is within walking distance without any problems. The rooms are quite small as usual with city hotels, but everything is available what is needed. The wellness area is open from 4 pm, but is nothing special and without fresh air supply. The sauna door could not be closed during our stay. A joke was the breakfast room. Totally crowded and the food barely accessible. We would probably choose another hotel if again in Kufstein.
