We stayed for 4 nights in one of the hotel’s 4 suites during a heatwave in the city during June
The hotel is not located within the city centre – but was chosen based on its TA scores and the favourable comments it received on Booking.com – in the main we were not disappointed – this is a very good hotel in a quiet and safe residential location – surrounded by restaurants – close to a decently sized Spar supermarket - and has good public transport links to city centre and Vienna’s main attractions – by tram (D) and metro (U4) - and the city centre is a walkable distance away
To our experience – the suite – located on the fourth floor - comprised of 3 rooms – a bedroom – lounge – bathroom – very comfortable – with 3 opening windows – fridge – coffee maker – strong Wi-Fi – TVs – only gripe was the shower was over the bath – clean and everything replenished with additions on request
Breakfast was taken on the ground floor – opportunity to sit outside at tables alongside the pavement under umbrellas – extensive buffet with some cooked items – breads and pastries – juices and good coffee – more than acceptable
We ate locally at Kantine - Kafé-De Bistro – DAS1090 - D’Landsknecht – all different – all very acceptable – and as a treat we would recommend Vito’s Gelato – for a very good ice cream
The only real problem we and all the other guests had was that one night the air conditioning failed – unfortunately it was over 25C inside during the night – the staff were magnificent in their efforts to resolve the problem which stemmed from a more serious malfunction in the boiler room – we were to some extent saved by having 3 windows but it made for an uncomfortable night’s sleep – the problem was fixed the next day
Would I return – the answer would be yes – it is a comfortable hotel that because of its location exudes calm in what is a very busy city – thank you
