Hostel Hutteldorf

I got into Vienna on 31st December 2019 and almost all hotels and Hostels were either booked out or overtly overpriced. Google showed hostel Hütteldorf wasn't far off and I went. Rooms cost about €32/night which seemed reasonable except that I had to share the room with 5 others. Had to pay €5.9 for padlocks to store my luggage, and had to share the bathroom with 35 others which was totally uncomfortable. Towels could be rented and you had to pay to use the washing machine (which was just 1 serving everybody BTW). Room was well cleaned and staffs were nice, there is a train station closeby with the U4 every 5mins to take you to the city center. There is a game room which you pay €1 per game session. I think it's nice that they have city maps and tourist destination on the lobby so you can easily have an idea where to go sightseeing. Plus I like that the reception is opened 24/6, since I like to explore the city until it's midnight.

It’s expensive, out the way. I know others said it’s out the way but I wasn’t expecting it to be so far. I went out drinking in the evening with some friends I had to leave at half 11 as the last regional train is at 12:45 then you have to wait tell 4:45am which took me a hour to get back and we was only at prater. There is no air con, you have to pay 8 euros for washing and there’s one washer and dryer between 60 odd rooms. Bathrooms and toilets are clean and I think rooms are cleaned daily. You have to strip your bed before you leave and put your own linen on. You have to buy a padlock from them for the locker because no other padlock I had fit, so every time I showered I needed the padlock keys and the keycard for the room which was a bit annoying. Staff are friendly and helpful. The beds are comfy and don’t move or make noise when you do. Sadly I was staying with people who was really inconsiderate and woke you me up early on multiple occasions and shut the window even though it was 28 degree heat. It would of been better if a fan or air con was here as it’s to hot and when people shut the window as they was close to it and they get cold leaving the rest of us to melt is just annoying. It could be better.

A clean and well organized hostel friendly staff And clean though , it’s very calm and a little far from the noisy center of the city , It has a very view and it has its own board for trips and tours , Highly recommended
