This was my first stay at Vienna. Had chosen this property as a transit point due to its nearness to eurocars terminal.
Positives of the property:
1. Bang on the main road.
2. Pocket friendly
3. Spacious rooms
4. Good buffet breakfast.
5. Nearness to market and Restaurants.
Negatives are:
1. Smell of tobacco in all the rooms and corridors.
2. Dark and gloomy look
3. Serves only breakfast. Not other meals.

Not a hotel...more like a flop/doss house for homeless people and refugees.
Filthy...expensive...no hot water...dirty underwear left in room by previous guests...blood stains on mattress...gum on floor...broken furniture....never a manager on duty to rectify complaints...and on and on...

It's a shame that I can only rate hotels from 1 to 5, because this place rates a zero.
My wife and I are currently on an inter-railing holiday around Europe. We decide where to go and then book a hotel. We decided on Vienna and had a look for a cheap and cheerful hotel. As we're out all day we only want somewhere clean to sleep, shower and have breakfast. The Cyrus seemed to fit the bill as it had a 3 rating. How wrong I was. I wouldn't class this as a hotel. It's more of a run-down doss-house. The curtains were falling off the rails, but even if they weren't, they still wouldn't have covered the windows. There was an antiquated boiler in the "bathroom" with covers missing and exposed wiring. The "bathroom" is actually the entrance lobby to the room. You enter from a corridor with holes in the wall, electrical trunking falling off the walls, and enter past the radiator with the ends hanging off. On the left is the toilet which is badly stained. Just past that is the basin which stops the toilet door opening fully. The cabinet which houses the basin is rotting away at the bottom. Above the basin is the aforementioned boiler. Next to that is the shower. The walls were stained with various colours of what looked like a combination of shower gel and toilet cleaner, and the shower curtain needed a good wash or replacement.
We then come to the bedroom. The main light was a 3 bulb fixing. Unfortunately it only had 1 bulb in it. There were 4 rectangular wall lights, but only 1 of those worked. There were 2 cheap single beds and 1 cheap double bed pushed up against the walls. This, combined with the non- functioning curtains, made for one of the worst stays that I have ever had. We had booked for 2 nights but had to cancel the second night via the company who we had booked through, because there was no-one at reception to speak to. In fact, the company who we had booked through were unable to communicate with the hotel as no-one would answer any of the telephone numbers which they had listed for them.
Would I recommend this hotel? Not even to my worst enemy.
