Hotel Kugel

A friend of mine and I lived in the boutique hotel for a week and one simply has to give praise. For one thing, the hotel is perfectly located, in a place that is only about a 10 to a maximum of 15-minute walk away from all the major sights. For another, it is located in a neighborhood where you feel extremely comfortable. You almost forget that you are in a big city. Quiet and relaxed ambiance, and anyone who wants to spend a lively evening will certainly find something among all the great bars nearby. Regarding the hotel itself, one can say that all employees are extremely competent. The manager is extremely pragmatic and helpful and knows the area extremely well, which helped us a lot. The room was spotless every day and the food was top-notch. The rooms are beautiful and the bathrooms very spacious. All in all, it was a very worthwhile trip and I would certainly come back again.

This hotel is an excellent choice when visiting Vienna. It is conveniently located near the Sisi museum and just a few stops away on the bus/tram to other fantastic tourist sites. The price is reasonable and the room has a classic/historic charm yet modern amenities. It is owned by the same family for hundreds of years (no exaggeration). The staff is extremely helpful with restaurant and transportation information. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for five nights while visiting our son and his wife, who live just across the street. The location was perfect for us — close to the city center, with tram line 49 right in front of the building, and surrounded by great cafés, restaurants, and shops. The hotel itself is charming and cosy. Our room was spacious, very clean, with a comfortable bed and a modern, well‑designed bathroom. Unfortunately, our stay coincided with the June 2026 heat wave, and the hotel has no air conditioning. We were given two fans, but one stopped working on our last night. Because of the heat, we had to sleep with the windows open, which made the room quite noisy due to the tram and street traffic. Overall, while we really appreciated the location, comfort, and cleanliness of the hotel, the lack of proper cooling significantly affected our sleep quality. We were tired during the day, which made our visit less enjoyable than it could have been. I believe the hotel should consider better solutions for extreme heat, which will likely become more frequent in the future. We would happily return — but only outside the warm season.
