The next overnight stop on our journey was the “Flanders Lodge Hotel” in the city of Ypres. It was our first time staying there. The hotel is tastefully decorated; a friendly reception and free private parking come as standard. Our room was very spacious and featured a completely renovated bathroom with a walk-in shower and a separate toilet. It was equipped with a flat-screen TV, air conditioning, a fridge, and free Wi-Fi—in short, everything was provided, including effective air conditioning and personal care products. The hotel has both a bar and a restaurant; we had dinner on-site, who is for us a huge advantage, and the meal was absolutely delicious and offered excellent value for money. After a great dinner, we enjoyed a very quiet night’s sleep in a comfortable bed, undisturbed by noise. The buffet breakfast was also excellent and plentiful, with everything included in the price. We have added this hotel to our list for our next trip to Belgium; it is highly recommended

Location & Accessibility: The hotel is located just outside the centre of Ypres in a business park, near a Shell station. For motorcyclists it is ideal: motorcycles can be parked directly at the entrance. On foot you can reach the Menin Gate in about 25 minutes for the impressive Last Post. The Chamber: The room was simple but neat. However, it could be seen that the maintenance deserves some attention here and there; so the window screen had its best time. Food & drink: The breakfast is simple, but actually everything you need is provided. The dinner we unfortunately found a bit less; it is absolutely not haute cuisine and the meat was quite salty. Good to know: Consumption can no longer be put on the room map. The hotel has had bad experiences with this in the past, so direct checkout is the norm. Final verdict: A great, no-frills hotel for a short stay in Ypres, especially if you are on a motorcycle.

We stayed here for a school battlefields trip for 2 nights. The room was nice but slightly small and the bathroom didn't lock and had an odd smell. The beds weren't in the best condition but weren't awful. The window didn't close once opened and the plug sockets were in funny places. The dinner was edible and the breakfast was nice, the staff were friendly. The hostel had great child entertainment facilities and bedtime hours were very reasonable. We had 6 girls in 1 room and it was a little squashed but okay for the duration of time.
