Upon our arrival, we were made to pay 75 euros for our dog, who couldn't fully enjoy the stay because on the 8th floor it was 30 degrees on average, with the only advice being "open the window wide." Not cool!

Just returned from a long weekend here with friends. First impressions were very good. The reception and adjacent bar both looked very nice. However, the receptionist was adamant we were not getting into our rooms before 3:00pm. When we finally got out of the lift the expectations dropped a tad. The corridors and stairwells looked quite dirty. It turned out they were refurbishing some of the bedrooms, at least two on our floor and two on the floor above (our friends). In the end the work didn’t disturb us, we were awake before any started in the mornings. Yes there was some dust about, but as they say “You can’t make omelettes without breaking eggs”. We had a standard room at the back of the hotel, fairly big, but no view as such, but it was very quiet. It hadn’t been refurbished. There were tea/coffee facilities, but you had to put the kettle on the floor to reach a socket. There wasn’t a fridge, safe, or any air conditioning. The television was a good size with a few English channels, plenty of storage too. A couple of extra pillows would have been nice. The bathroom was disappointing, it was quite old, there was a shower over the bath with a shower curtain. Something I hate! Our friends bath had been changed for a walk in shower, which was lovely, but no other work had been done in their bathroom. We stayed on a bed & breakfast basis and the breakfast was lovely. Cold meats, scrambled eggs, bacon, some nice breads and normal continental cereals and pastries. The location was great too, very central. Near the beach and the railway station. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Parking was at a premium, we paid the hotel €75 for 3 days in nearby underground car park. I would have no hesitation in coming back, but only if I could be guaranteed a walk in shower.
