Hotel De Sal Luna Salada

We spent one night in the igloo and had to stay longer because we couldn't proceed due to protests and roadblocks. We then switched to a room. Tip: it's better to book through a booking platform than directly at the hotel. We initially negotiated the price for our extension down to the USD price we would have paid if we had booked through Agoda or similar. Then, when paying with a credit card, we were told that we could only pay in local currency, and it ended up costing USD 400 per night instead of about USD 260, which was not worth it for this room. But at least it was somewhat warm.

Unfortunately, I only stayed one night in this wonderful hotel; I would have liked to stay longer! The walls are made of salt bricks, the floor is sprinkled with salt, and the tables, chairs, and beds are made of salt blocks… beautiful! Along the corridor, there are plenty of cozy common areas with a fireplace and comfortable seating, overlooking the Salar de Uyuni. The rooms are very comfortable and well heated. Good Wi-Fi, comfortable beds, and plenty of hot water in the shower. The dinner served buffet-style was very good, as was the breakfast. The hotel and restaurant staff were friendly and accommodating. Probably due to its location (on the shores of the Salar de Uyuni), the hotel is expensive, but it is a special experience that one should afford in this area.

A wonderful hotel, all made of salt, a truly astonishing construction. Beautiful, clean, spacious, and well-equipped room, considering the location. The common areas are also beautiful, very well-kept and picturesque, the view, the sunsets are breathtaking. Kind staff, excellent restaurant, and good and plentiful breakfast. The stars visible from the Salar are unforgettable.
