Hotel Karreiros

Our twin room was clean with relatively comfortable beds, the breakfast buffet was good and the staff were helpful especially with arranging taxi transfers. No complaints at all. There is a good por kilo restaurant a short distance away.

We stayed here during the World Cup when accommodation was hard to find so prices were higher than usual. We were able to get a cab to and from the airport and to the Popular Square downtown where there are good food places. There was good service at reception and clean linen. It looks like they had tried to modernise it and paint it in readiness for the World Cup. Bed was reasonably comfortable. Only one tap in the shower but it was hot enough. Rooms were airconditioned but we could not adjust temperature so turned it off for most of the night except when we got hot. Happy to have it in the room especially when we arrived.
