Hotel Majestyc

We stayed here for one night in one of the rooms on the second floor with shared facilities. The man behind the reception gave us a friendly welcome and also the porter welcomed us with a smile when we arrived late at night. We checked into our room and actually really liked it. It had high ceilings, wooden floors and a typical old style window. We actually could imagine what Belo Horizonte must have looked like, with large colonial buildings, before they started building tall flat ugly buildings. The only setback is that it is very noisy there, we were at the street side and even during the night, the city keeps buzzing. The shared facilities were a mixed bag. The male part was very clean, in the female part there was room for improvement (but nothing too severe). We cannot say anything about the neighborhood, we choose the place because it was cheap and close to the bus station, which it was. We cannot comment on how the location is when you want to visit the city. So why not a 'very good'. Well, the breakfast was really a disappointment. There was nothing to put on the bread except for butter (warm, as it had been there for hours). There was some fruit available but also not much. It looked like someone just stopped serving food halfway through breakfast. The coffee was undrinkable. However, all in all we would probably stay there again, perhaps this time with a private bathroom.
