Das Cataratas

The hotel was beautiful, well maintained and has great amenities. The location inside the park is totally worth the price. The service was excellent and when one of the added on experiences didn’t meet our expectations, the hotel took care of it.

The hotel is inside the park, so we could walk to the falls in the morning and evening without other tourists, which is a great advantage. The room was large, clean, well equipped, with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was fabulous, outside next to the pool. We also enjoyed the restaurant there. Service was excellent. The hotel is not cheap, but really special and luxurious, we thought it was well worth it. The main improvement opportunity is the concierge service. We booked a couple of tours and pick up from the airport. Communication before our arrival was cumbersome and on one of our tours they forgot to order our food, so we had to wait almost an hour before we could start.

We were in Foz and purchased the breakfast entrance at the Belmond Hotel along with the entrance to the Waterfall trail. It was the best possible choice! This combo allows entry to the waterfalls before public opening. We discovered the cataracts almost alone, which made the experience unique, and right after we went to the cafe. The breakfast was surreal! The variety and quality of the buffet were impressive. We paid R$373 per adult, but it was worth every penny. The team was always very polite and helpful. Then we did the same trail with the park open (crowded) and we were sure we made the right choice by going earlier.
