Vivaz

The hotel has its highs and lows. The location is excellent, with good restaurants, beaches and markets nearby, as well as being close to the airport and with easy access to Ubers. About the hotel itself, the staff is very friendly and concerned about tours, tips and sights. We went in a group of 6 people (3 couples) and took 3 bedrooms. The hotel is beautiful, but needs repairs. The rooms are tight, the TV didn't work right and the hall had an unpleasant smell. The pool area is quite nice and the breakfast, although simple, has a lot of quality. Everything is fresh, with seasonal fruits and great tapiocas. Overall, I would not come back, but it was also not a bad experience. With a little renovation, the hotel could look much better.

Beautiful location close to the beach, on a street full of fantastic restaurants. The hotel honours its boutique character, with a unique touch of elegance and cosiness. I thoroughly enjoyed the terrace with the swimming pool. Highly recommended!

Firstly, there is nothing 'boutique-esque" about this place...Unless boutique is Portuguese for tiny, cell-like, mouldy and poorly kept!? I usually write in pros, but will let the photos speak for themselves: - Concrete flooring (similar to my garage) - Mildew on walls (Inc. Damp smell) - Masking tape around electrics in shower (shower itself was more of a dribble) - View to....brick wall - Thinnest walls ever (not helped by inconsiderate family next door making as much noise as possible at 5am) - Bed, soft on one side...softer on the other - Towels. One had large yellow stain on, other two spots of what looked like blood/rust....with a couple of holes in. Breakfast staff were lovely and the terrace was compact but nice. Good location.
