Ilha Branca

Very nice place, we were very comfortable, with a sea view, the room was adequate, well located, within walking distance to many beaches and the center of Buzios, very beautiful and peaceful. The only downside was the lack of sun; we had rain, but the mild weather was very pleasant.

It is very well located, on João Fernandes beach. It is safe to walk around at any time and there is a well priced exchange next door. The pools are clean as are the rooms. Being in a hot zone there are many insects, so leaving the windows open causes visitors to arrive.

Appalling experience in an expensive hotel, with totally missed expectations. We booked a “luxury” room and it was a disaster from start to finish. The room was seven floors upstairs, something not reported when booking. The supposed privileged view overlooked a fence with yuyos. The wifi did not reach the room, extremely uncomfortable. The door did not close properly and there was a single outlet throughout the room, next to the bed, which also worked intermittently. One night we had an ant invasion and the hotel had a single container of poison for the whole establishment, which was above it in another room, so the response was late and inefficient. Another night directly there was no water. On January 2nd they closed the uncovered pool, in the middle of the season, and enabled it just days before we left. We were offered to switch to other category rooms, but they were so small that the bags did not fit, so they were not a real alternative. There were no other options. We reached a point where we could no longer walk up stairs because of back and leg pain, and we are young people. We decided to leave three days early and were not refunded for the remaining nights. Poor infrastructure, bad management and zero regard for the guest. Forgetfulness. I don't recommend it.
