Pousada Ancorar

I stayed at Pousada Ancorar with my girlfriends, and at first the staff seemed very friendly. However, after a late dinner we arrived at the hotel at 12:45am very tired. So when we were stopped by a member of the staff and asked to pay for the room (at 12:45am still), we kindly asked if we could pay the next day. He said no, we had to pay right then. So we all paid and it was very uncomfortable and awkward because the man asked us the same questions several times, made us fill out forms and even mimicked me in a way that I did not find funny at all. Other reasons I would not recommend this pousada are that parking is on the street and the breakfast lacked variety.

We were vacationing in RIO and decided to drive up to Cabo Frio on a whim for an overnight trip. We drove around for a while looking for a place and spotted this gem from the road. After pulling in we were met by the owner who was the sweetest most accommodating host! He chatted with us for a while, gave us great restaurant recommendations and directed us to the best beach for our beach adventure the next day. Since we came during off season, we ended up being the only people staying at the hotel which made it even more cozy! Our room was comfortable, fresh and clean. Our morning breakfast was delicous. What more can I say? Next time I visit Cabo Frio, i'm definitely staying here.
