Grand City Hotel

I was supposed to spend 14 days of self quarantine here. Once I got into the hotel, I was welcomed by a helpful and friendly staff who tried their best to make me as comfortable as possible. The room was extremely dirty and worn out. I am sure this is the dirties place I have ever stayed. Luckily, I managed to get a different hotel the day after, and spent the rest of my self quarantine there.

The hotel is bang average, you cant expect much from this one but its location is quite great. You can find a big sundry shop just next door and its door even connected via Ayamku, a chicken fast food joint (KFC lookalike). The room and bed is ok but the AC is not easy to control. Getting here I think throughout Brunei you have to depend on car to get around. BTW the hotel provides shuttle to the airport.

I’ve stayed in this hotel every time I visit Brunei in the past couple of years. It is great for its location. It is convenient to get to many areas. However, the hotel is in need of a major revamp. The toilets are old. And you can’t get wifi from the rooms. This time, I’ve stay for 4 nights. I took out the extra pillow from the wardrobe and they were extremely dusty. I probably will not stay in this hotel the next time I visit Brunei, unless they revamp it.
