Black Sea Paradise

The Good: The apartment was really nice, spacious and clean with great views from the balcony and easy access to the beach (25yards). All the appliances and aircon worked well, the shower was powerful. There is also a supermarket and top class beach bar close by. Note: the Sozopol town centre is a 1.5km walk away (we liked this as the town centre is a bit like a Costa Del Sol tourist town and not really what we wanted). The Bad: The pool is empty, and didn't look like being filled any time soon and the general sunbathing area is a bit ropey. The beach has lots of loungers but they book up fast and could be a bit expensive. The Weird: We arrived after a long drive from Sofia and could find no trace of any 'front desk' / reception.. we circled the building a few times, rang the number listed on the booking information several times but nobody answered. Eventually we asked at a beach bar and the manager there was able to contact the 'owner' who met us with a key. When we checked out there was no sign of the 'owner' so we just had to leave the key in the apartment and leave the door unlocked. All just a bit weird if you ask me.

Excellent sights is all the good I can say about this aparthotel. They start by deceiving the client by showing an address in Stara Planina Street at Google Maps, in the center of Sozopol, but the location is more than a kilometer away, in dusty (or muddy if it rains) unpaved streets amidst unfinished buildings. In other places like here they advise their location at the Harmanite Beach, the first south of the city, but that is a lie too. They are at the Bamboo Beach, farther away. The staff is lousy, receiving the clients with a cigarette butt at the corner of the mouth. Access to the Internet is way too expensive. The equipment of the dwellings is a perfect joke. One of the suites had dishes and frying pans, but no stove and no sink. The other had stove and sink, but the shower was at the bathroom floor, with no cabin, and the water was heated by a very cheap electric resistance with no power. Lots of items were in disrepair. The service was very sparse. Other lie was the pool. It was empty and looked like it never was filled this year. Dangerous for kids. It seems to me the whole Black Sea Coast of Bulgaria gets so full of tourists that the management of this facility thinks they don't need to care. And the price is outrageous for the quality they offer.
