St. Vlas

We have just spent a lovely week at this lovely hotel. We had booked a sea view but were given a ground floor room looking at the side of the hotel. We asked the next day about it but decided to stay where we were. The room was basic but clean and modern looking, twin beds pushed together so nice and roomy. The owners were lovely and friendly, only 24 rooms meant that it felt so personal compared to a huge hotel. The food was lovely - I’m the worlds fussiest eater and I didn’t go hungry. Evening meal was buffet style with the main meal on display on 2 plates and you chose and it was served at the table. The pork dishes were particularly nice. Dessert was limited but we had enough with the savoury choices. Breakfast was more continental style, plenty sausage but no beans! Coffee and tea machine was handy or juice was available and the pancakes were out of this world! Again we didn’t ever go hungry. Drinks are cheap, 500ml bottle of beer for 3 lev (£1.50) in the hotel, even cheaper in town. We much prefer a quiet resort and we’re pleased after visiting nearby Sunny Beach that we had chosen well. The pool area was keep clean and while the sun beds weren’t the most comfortable, there was plenty to go around. There were a few family’s with small children who all played together nicely and overall we couldn’t fault the hotel, staff or facilities. I would recommend a bar in the shopping are called No Name bar for a lovely night out and during the day a trip to Nesebar is a must. We went to the harbour and got a water taxi across for 15 lev and a bus back via Sunny Beach, which is a good place for shopping. I would definitely go back to this hotel

Our room should have been bed for 2 people with bed settee - no bed settee but room would have been too small for one. Room was adequate for what we needed and is in a good position. Swimming pool very clean but pool bar not ready for opening. Breakfast was disappointing - all cold foods (cucumber, tomatoes, cereal etc) - there was bread but no toaster, only milk for tea was hot milk. Bar closed at 8pm which was a bit early for us as we enjoy sitting by the pool with a drink. All rooms overlook the pool, fairly close to the road but was still very quiet. Room was clean with towels changed daily. Lovely balcony overlooking the pool.

The hotel itself is a bit old. The room we had was ok but very basic. The toilet sit in the bathroom was unstable. We stayed there for 3 days, but as far as I know nobody cleaned the room. The WiFi connection was quite weak and slow. The location was not near the beach. The pool was ok and with clean water. If you stay there ask for a room facing the pool. Good thing is that there is a parking area and the staff is really friendly and welcoming. Bring cash - no cards accepted.
