Orlovetz

Very poor, cold, inedible evening meals and service, we had upgraded from bed and breakfast to half board, our mistake! Staff seemed miserable and young man on reception shrugged his shoulders when we complained about food and said “no one else has complained” we know this isn’t true having read other reviews since. You are given one complimentary bottle of water on arrival in your room, there are no other complimentary drinks. Rooms stank of cigarettes and were too hot. Definitely not a 5 star hotel. Would not recommend.

Having been to Pamporovo many times and stayed in The Orvelets at least 4 times I feel that the standard is dropped . In particular 1. Food in Orvelets , poor selection, cold , staff friendliness not good. As mentioned we complained to management and they let us eat in the Perilik, where the food selection is far more extensive and most warm ( I know Bulgarian food is never hot) . Great salad bar and desert selection. The staff were more attentive and friendly too. 2. Shuttle bus from Orvelets not as good as previous. Often full from Perilik pick up , often waited 30 minutes or more on some days . 3. Rooms had coffee pod machines and came with 2 coffee pods that were replenished each day. On check out they charged 7euro for coffee except for the first two. They said it was mentioned on the mini bar taffif , but that’s not clear. So felt very disappointed considering its 5* hotel. They also provided a complementary bottle of water the first day that was clearly marked as complementary but then nothing on the following days, for a 5* hotel I think it’s below standard not to provide Guests with water. Even at dinner there was not water provided, you had to purchase. Overall I feel Pamporovo has become very expensive and not value for money. I think next year we will be looking for a different resort.

Great four nights away at the Orlovetz. Loved it. Great hotel. Lovely spa. Close to amenities. Good transfer service to slopes. Breakfast choice good but omelettes and pancakes slow. Replace toilet roll more often please. Otherwise great!
