Comfort Star Hotel

I was here for 19 days.staff is good.Cleaning is done daily but Windows and curtains are bit dirty. I think this hotel is located in an idial place but if they maintain this hotel properly will be a better one. Breakfast is free but there are no many options to select. Even the foods are mentioned on menu, they say they dont have some of them.But anyway good place.

I stayed here for several time and recently, I found out that they have a new wing which is much better in terms of deco and facilities. I would consider this as a guest house rather than a hotel. Room was big but relative poor in terms of maintenance. Thus, all the rooms either has a broken light bulb or something that is not working. Room was basic and bed was clean. They provide towel with very basic amenities like soap bar & packet shampoo. There is a petrol kiosk beside with a small supermarket (Tiger Mart) which is convenient for people staying in this guest house. The restaurant was decent and served local food. Prices and taste were all decent. Overall, it's a reasonable place to stay for the price I pay.

This is the second time I'm staying in the hotel. I've decided to shift from a cheaper guest house because of my friend's review. Since I've stayed in this guest house several years ago and had a rather pleasant stay, I've decided to come back for one night before I fly back to Singapore the next day. The lobby was big (for a guest house) but was poorly lit. My friends and I got to use our Iphone flashlight to make arrangement for rooming. There is one small lift that serves the whole building. Upon reaching the room, the ceiling light was spoilt and I only have the wall light for the entire night. The wall light was enough to light up the whole room. The room was big and the bed were comfortable. I had 2 super single size bed in my twin sharing room and it is enough to sleep 4 person. There is a decent CRT TV in the room with several local and international channels to chose from. Water and basic amenities like shampoo, soap and towel were provided. Toilet was big and was fitted with an old and worn out bath tub. Although the tap/shower head shows the color indicator - Red for hot water and Blue for cold water, you get cold water when you turned to either side of the tap. I did not managed to visit the restaurant this time due to my tight schedule. However, based on my previous experience, the restaurant was decent and food was ok. It is a good place for short stay if you are on budget.
