This is a Really nice Hotel with rooms that are made in colonial style. If you have a Room to the Front you you will have a nice view on the river and the river park.
The rooms are very nice but the bathrooms seriously need to be updated! They are old and not well designed.
If you like to you can eat breakfast and dinner in the roof restaurant having a perfect view up to the Mekong river.

The good: Very attractive hotel with the most perfect location IMHO possible. Phnom Penh is transforming rapidly but if you want to see the old real French influence Phnom Penh this is the area to stay in. Room had beautiful old Cambodia mahagony furniture in excellent condition. The bed is firm and very comfortable for me. Air condition worked excellent (and I stayed at the peak of hot season). My balcony view (room 211) of the confluece of the Mekong and Tonle Sap is a world-class. Great people-watching below and enjoyed watching the boat and ship traffic on the Tonle Sap. Despite the busy street below, it was quite quiet in my room. ATM next to front door and excellent restaurant on ground floor. Very friendly staff. Good fast and reliable wifi. Good individually cooked breakfast (but is a buffet during high-season I'm told). Fair pricing (but there are some cheaper nearby). Refrigerator worked perfectly. Good safety box in room. Excellent hot water machine and good supply of coffee. Adaquate number of electrical outlets for an older hotel.
The not so good: Lighting in the room was poor but maybe typical of these older Cambodian hotels. I carried my own lamp with LED bulb, which provided more light than all the lamps and ceiling lights in the room. TV had plenty of channels but most appeared fuzzy. Shower provided either cold water or extremely hot water, nothing in between. Sink drain wouldn't seal making it difficult to wash a few items. No elavator. I was told I had a room on the second floor which required walking up three flights of steps. I was lucky when I arrived in afternoon that there was young man who carried my heavy suitcase up but when I departed in evening, I had to carry my suitcase down. Other guests reported there was no one to carry their suitcases up. Room appeared very clean however when I moved the wooden cabinet that I placed my suitcase on there was.... (I'm not going to say) under it. Laundry prices are ridiculously high but I used them as I was told it would be a same day return, however my laundry arrived the next day. I recommend to walk around the corner for $1/kilo laundry service.
All said and done, I wouldn't definitely stay there again.

We had a great few weeks staying at the Royal Bougainvillier Hotel on our Epic Animal Quest in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Breakfast In Royal Bougainvillier!
Since we came to Phnom Penh a year ago, we have been overwhelmed by the fantastic selection of Vegan food available in restaurants across the city. The Bougainvillier Hotel is no exception, and the food we have eaten there has been great.
Since our first visit and during our stay there, we were delighted to be able to help them implement five new Vegan dishes for their Tapas/Bar Menu!
On top of this, though, the breakfast was always great for us. We enjoyed a selection in their buffet style breakfast time including traditional muesli and cereals, toast and jam, noodles, fried rice, vegetables stir fried, fresh fruit, salad, grilled tomatoes, baked beans, tea and coffee.
Royal Bougainvillier Hotel Phnom Penh - The Room
Our room was immaculate when we arrived and kept that way during our entire stay. Sheets were cleaned and changed, and the beds were so comfy! The view from the balcony was excellent, and we enjoyed chilling out as we looked down on the riverside and watched the world go by. Our room was actually a suite which was amazing. So spacious and clean, and fitted out with furniture and decor that gave a Cambodian vibe. We really had nothing to complain about and for us, the room and view was the best part of the hotel; it was brilliant.
The TV had lots of channels and the WIFI was good and we got a good coverage in almost every part of our suite so all very happy!
Rooftop Bar
The bar was situated on the highest point in the hotel and was always run by very friendly bar staff who were really good at making great cocktails. They have regular happy hours and events too, and you don’t have to be a guest to drink there.
The bar offers full meals and snacks, but there is also a restaurant that we helped implement five new Vegan dishes for!
The views from the rooftop were so impressive and we got some great photos of the sunrise as it was directly across the river. The views really made eating and drinking at the rooftop bar a great experience.
Reception
The reception staff were brilliant. They were always on hand to help and would go out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. They made sure our room was cleaned and everything topped up.
Food
We are an all Vegan family, and the Chefs were more than happy to accommodate us. We were really proud to have been able to spend a couple of days with the Head Chef to implement 5 new Vegan dishes for their new menu, and we were really impressed with their vision and interest to appeal to Vegan guests at their Phnom Penh Hotel. No complaints at all.
Overall
We loved everything about The Royal Bougainvillier Hotel. It was clean, and staff were always on hand to help with anything at all and were very happy and friendly the whole time during our stay. They really made our time there one to remember. Thank you!
