Banff Caribou Lodge And Suites

The hotel has dated rooms and poor access passes to the room. Several times in our 2 night stay had to return to reception because the pass did not work. Furthermore, there was no air conditioning in the room, which is not pleasant in the summer. The restaurant, on the other hand, is excellent.

Rooms are dark, dated and a bit worse for wear. Rotten wooden skirting in the bathroom and plastic peeling off the faux leather chairs in the rooms. Stayed in a double queen room and only 1 bedside table. Breakfast was a let down. Paid extra for maple syrup with the pancakes and it was tasteless and not worth the money. Expensive rooms and food for what you get - there are probably better value hotels in town. Wouldn’t recommend.

We stayed here for 3 nights before travelling on the Rocky Mountaineer. The hotel is clean and the staff are all brilliant. The only issue I had was the cooked breakfast. I’m vegetarian and there is little choice, I ended up having toast and some hash browns as that was all there was that was vegetarian. If I come again I wouldn’t choose the buffet but order something off the menu.
