Banff International Hostel

Great location, we had a 8 bed female dorm with ensuite. Room was quiet, everyone respectful. Great kitchen set up and laundromat. Staff friendly and helpful. Everything clean and tidy. Definitely recommend if in Banff.

This was my first time staying in a hostel. I stayed in the 6 bed female dorm. Front desk staff was very accommodating when I asked for a lower bunk. Room was cleaned daily. Fairly quiet hostel. No air conditioning but thankfully there were two windows that opened and the evenings were cool. I would suggest they replace pillows as mine was about as flat as it gets. They also had bear spray which they loaned me for the week.

The hostel is very well located, within easy walking distance of everything you need in Banff, including the bus hub, visitor center, and IGA supermarket — all within about 7 minutes. There is a large shared kitchen with enough cooking space and a professional-grade refrigerator. Unfortunately, breakfast or free coffee is not provided, only complimentary tea. The Wi-Fi was very strong throughout the hostel, and free parking is available. The beds were a bit too soft, but they were equipped with power sockets, a small fan, and a curtain for privacy. The hostel was clean overall. But cleaning lady cleaned room very late in the afternoon when already returning from treking which I found disturbing, also thez do not knock before entering the room. The staff was friendly, though they could offer more detailed information about tours and trekking, rather than just general advice. However, additional information can easily be obtained at the visitor center.
