Douglas Fir Resort & Chalets

Horrible. We initially looked at a cabin and couldn't believe how damp and musty it was. The furniture was really old; the sofa was thread bare and should have been sent to the land fill many years ago. We upgraded to the executive suite, LOL! It was a bit better than the cabin, however everything was so dated and there was broken furniture that was poorly repaired. There was a metal ashtray fastened to the railing on the balcony that was so full of cigarette buts it was overflowing. We paid $750 per night for this dump. If we were staying in Banff longer, we would have found other accommodations.

Rustic cabin in the mountains, with balcony overlooking the forest. Good base for exploring the area but lovely and quiet. We had the 1 bedroom cabin with a pull down bed in the living room for 3 of us. Rooms were rustic with some maintainence required, but clean and comfortable. Lovely and quiet area. Parking near each cabin. Basic kitchen essentials for food prep if needed, with large fridge, cooker and dishwasher. Could do with extra cups etc but was fine for us for a short stay. Loved the bus passes that were included, we used those every day to get around town. Various stops in town to hop-on-hop-off. Overall a good mountain life experience in the middle of nature, but close to town.

The staff were very nice, but our room smelled very musty, and the water was warm but not hot.
