Mount Royal

We had a wonderful stay at **Mount Royal Hotel** in Banff. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of downtown—with shopping, restaurants, and cafés literally on your doorstep, making it easy to explore the town on foot. The staff were always warm, welcoming, and helpful. I especially appreciated the complimentary daily tea service on the second floor, which was a lovely touch. The on-site restaurant is very convenient for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, although it is more mid-priced than budget-friendly. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the mountain views were beautiful. We didn't get a chance to use the rooftop hot tub, but it's a fantastic amenity and I'm sure the views from there are spectacular. A huge bonus is the **free parking**, which is a great perk in downtown Banff. Another convenience is that **Discover Banff Tours** picks guests up directly from the hotel, making it an excellent base for sightseeing. The **Lake Minnewanka Scenic Loop** is only about a **9-minute drive** from the hotel, making it easy to visit one of Banff's most scenic areas. Overall, I highly recommend Mount Royal Hotel for its outstanding location, friendly staff, convenience, and excellent value. I would happily stay here again.

The room was crazy loud, I'd asked for an accessible room for my Mum and they put us in a room that was the furthest away from the elevator meaning she had to walk a long way. It was also a corner room facing the street and the room was so loud! It was Saturday and people were being loud and drunk outside of the window until 3am. I should have guessed this was a loud room as there were complimentary ear plugs on the bedside table. Mum can't wear ear plugs so she didn't sleep at all. The rooms, in fact the whole hotel is dark and gloomy, the beds were comfortable and the shower was good but I think the hotel is really over priced for what it is. You're definitely paying for location here

We had a lovely stay at the Mount Royal. There was a ceiling leak on our first night, but the maintenance staff fixed the problem quickly and effectively. The hotel is well located, and has a nice historic feel. Our Junior Suite had a great view over the main street and mountains. The room was very comfortable and quiet. Not just the bed and pillows (fantastic), but also the sofa, which is uncommon. Lovely renovated bathroom and kitchenette, and great hot tubs with amazing views. Also enjoyed the library, free morning cappuccinos, and for skiers, the Lake Louise and Sunshine shuttle buses pick you up right outside the hotel, which is fantastic.
