Blackfoot Inn

We were here just one night on a last minute trip to Calgary. We'd never stayed before; we chose the property based on price and location. It was convenient/central to the things we wanted to do. What happy happenstance, because this hotel is a hidden gem in an industrial type area. There is tons of parking, as well as EV chargers. The lobby and other common areas are clean and modern. Check-in was quick and easy, even right at 3 p.m. We had a Summit room on the 6th floor, and it was absolutely lovely. Spacious with two arm chairs, a king bed, desk, credenza, and a coffee/bar area with a fridge and microwave, as well as a selection of drink and wine glasses. It also had a large wardrobe with robes and slippers. The bathroom was on the small side, but well appointed with plenty of space to put toiletries. The rain head in the shower was heavenly, and the bath towels were huge. The only small niggle we had with our stay was temperature control in the room. The temp was absolutely fine while sitting watching TV or moving about, but we prefer it cooler to sleep, and the thermostat wouldn't seem to allow us to turn the temperature down. We made do, though, and it wasn't a huge trauma. With our room we had access to the Summit Lounge on the 7th floor. We went up right after check-in and were happy to find a wide variety of soft drinks, juice, water, coffee, etc. as well as fruit and granola bars. There is turn down service in the evening, they leave bottled water and chocolate on the bedside tables. Breakfast in the Summit Lounge was impressive. There were hot items (scrambled eggs, potato wedges, bacon, sausage) alongside all the usual continental items, a lovely array of fresh fruit, cold meats and cheeses, hot drinks and bottled juice and water. We wish our stay could have been longer, and we'll definitely choose Hotel Blackfoot the next time we're in YYC.

If you want a comfortable temperature room don’t visit hotel Blackfoot in the summer. Our room didn’t get below 23 with the supposed ac unit running all day and night. Waited over 30 mins for tech to come and says it’s blowing cold air, wasn’t blowing any air, could barely feel anything blowing and the tech even commented that it was quite warm in the room but that’s all he would do and the front desk only sent a guy with a fan. No calling up to check, no offering to change rooms no offer of anything just a fan and deal with the heat!

The location was perfect. We were attending the Alberta Provincial Pickleball Event at Club 315 and it was perfect. The room was perfect, comfortable and clean, it also had fridge and microwave and real glasses. The bathroom was spotless. Overall very quiet. The cost included breakfast.
