Holiday Inn Calgary Macleod Trail

This hotel is a mixed bag. It’s really well positioned on the C-train line (approx 2 mins walk behind the hotel) for central Calgary (which is why we chose it), it had a fantastic bed and the staff were lovely. However…it was slightly seedy! The room was HUGELY dated, although clean, didn’t have functioning wall air conditioning, so a vent was out the window from a unit, which let so much noise in. The bathroom (see photos) again clean was pretty shabby. The walk to the C-train around the back of the hotel did have some homeless people lingering and although they didn’t bother us, were a little intimidating to walk past. They would also walk up past the entrances to the hotel. The carpet was so old I think it was laid in the 50’s and had quite a few suspicious stains. So although it’s well placed and good value for a pit stop, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

Do not stay ! Worst experience ever. Dirty floors, broken doors, smelly rooms and air conditioner not working, unclean parking lot.

Great location. With gas prices up and down, this is very close to a C-Train hub, close to downtown, on the bus route on Macleod Tr. My room was clean, sheets immaculate, towels super clean, bathroom sparkling. I would stay again. I would like to give a shout-out to Rukar, the front desk person who checked me in. Lovely, efficient, kind with good people skills. Thank you Rukar.
