Sandman Hotel Calgary Downtown

location was excellent for the stampede being right next to the tram with a 10min journey down to the stadium. Moxies restaurant was very good for both breakfast and dinner. The room was small and we did not get what we had booked, should have been 2 queen beds but ended up with a queen and a sofa bed which was not ideal as we had to climb over it to reach the bathroom when it was down. However, overall it suited for the stampede. I would not recommend for stay outside the stampede. It is not in the best area, across the road from the front of the hotel there was a lot which clearly had drug users hanging around and a square out the back by the tram stop that also had lots of young men hanging around later in the day. I wouldn't have wanted to walk back to the hotel in the evening. Much nicer areas of downtown to stay in if visiting Calgary.

A neat hotel located in the center of Calgery. The hotel and the room is neat and clean. Room is spacious! Beds are good. Room contains an air conditioning, it does not make very much noise, which was nice! The hotel is located on the +15 skywalk, allowing you to move through a large part of downtown Calgery via covered walkways and through buildings. The hotel does not offer breakfast. However, breakfast can be had at the restaurant located on the ground floor of the hotel. The hotel contains and paid parking garage. This was a bit difficult for us to reach, due to work next to the hotel.

We stayed here for two nights. Staff were soooo helpful with early check in and holding our bags after check out before we caught our plane home. Rooms were clean (we had a corner room). There were multiple seating options in the room. The lobby was ALWAYS busy. I had a look at the gym and pool but didn’t take photos. The gym needed more fans. The pool and hot tub looked warm and inviting but I didn’t use it. The LRT free transit zone is just outside the hotel and you can access the +15 Skywalk from the hotel so its location was good for accessing most of downtown Calgary (if you don’t mind walking a bit).
