I read a bunch of reviews after booking and I was very nervous after reading some reports! However….. We had an AMAZING experience, from start to finish.
There is no getting around that the pool/spa are not completed. It’s disappointing for sure, but I found the hotel is doing everything it can to help. Free shuttles to another property, or free parking to use their pool. For us, we were so busy it didn’t make a difference. There was a beautiful soaking tub in our room which was what was really nice after long hikes. They included soaks in different scents to pour into the water.
We celebrated our 10year anniversary. I started communicating with the hotel’s concierge service a few weeks prior to book things and get ideas. I was connected with Mia, who wrote literal paragraphs to me on ideas and reasoning on timing for shuttles and other suggestions. She was so great. Her suggestions were spot on - our anniversary dinner was magical and it was all planned based on her recommendations. Use this service and ask for Mia!
When we checked in, we were upgraded to a suite, which was beyond lovely. I agree with some reviews that the couch is not comfy.. but it looks very cool and sophisticated. There was treats in our room every night, turn down service and cleaned up daily. Our view was just beautiful, it never got old. The front desk was polite and available.
We used the valet service for our car which was only slightly more expensive than self park, and it was so nice to have your car waiting for you (they were always prompt).
The market food was very yummy - we enjoyed the breakfast wraps and lattes. I do wish there was a more mid-range restaurant although Parker’s table was very good.
I get when you are spending a lot of money, you want the full experience with the pool. It does look like it will be completed in the next few weeks (we saw them taking professional photos for marketing). For us, it didn’t make a difference due to the cold weather… and the top notch service we received still made the hotel seem like a luxury stay. We loved loved loved it. What a beautiful property and staff. Highly recommend.

There is a very regular all day shuttle bus service into town
The room was very comfortable but the view left a bit to be desired. When we were there the pool area was closed and under renovation but we had been warned in advance. The food quality was good but there was always a 10-15 minute queue for breakfast and if eating at the hotel it was important to reserve ahead with limited availability in timing. This was a problem throughout Banff. However we were there are the height of the tourist season. The hotel is very near the gondola which is well worth doing and there are some super walks but do ask your hotel or tour guide for bear spray.
The service in the hotel was excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

This property has spectacular views, a very good restaurant (Parker’s Table) and pleasant staff. Rooms are commensurate with the price. The current state of the only approach road makes in and out quite unpleasant.
