Clearwater Suite Hotel

We came here for the communities in bloom sumposium. The hotel is clean, tidy with good breakfast and very nice staff. Exemplary service of everybody. Also the location is perfect as it is near the supermarket and a very good coffe place. We recomend.

We were given a lovely suite there when we were evacuated from our home. The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially Jo & Rochelle, on the front desk. We cannot say enough good things about the hotel and all their staff. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Montana’s, Wendy’s & Tim Horton’s are all a few steps away.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel a few years ago and everything was wonderful. Since that time, he has chosen to stay several times when he is in town for work, again, because the rooms are decent, the location is good, he enjoys the breakfast etc. However this visit has been a nightmare the entire time. He arrived 3 days ago and was placed in a ground-floor room, no problem. He found 2 dead beetles in his bathroom and didn't think much of it. However when we went to sleep that night, he was awoken about an hour later to something crawling on his face! There was one beetle still on his cheek and another one in the bed. He got up and started to search and found several more live ones on the couch in the living area. So he went to the desk to advise them. They kindly moved him to a room on the 4th floor. Sadly, the same problem revealed itself in that room. He was on face-time with me when suddenly he was flinging his hat off his head and swearing because there were more on the bed. All he had to do was turn the phone around to show me the carpets and there were so many! Both dead and alive. So he started to gather them up to take them to the desk, simply to prove that he's not just complaining because of a single bug. They did nothing but tell him that the Manager wouldn't be there until this morning. He spoke with her this morning, hoping that she would have an explanation that made sense, or that she could tell him that the problem was being addressed and this was transition period as the treatment was taking effect. Nope. He was told that there was nothing they could do but offer $25.00 off of ONE of his three nights there. She advised him that they had not had an extermination company in and it didn't seem as though there was interest in getting it done. He just wanted her to acknowledge how awful it was to not even be able to walk on the carpets without crunching on dead bugs, or to be able to sleep for fear of them crawling on him, but there was no acknowledgement of that. She didn't offer to look into it, and there appeared to be zero concern about his experience. What does that say about the housekeeping in this place? They moved him to an empty room that was filled with dead (and some live) bugs; there's no way that many of them showed up all at once, which clearly shows that vacuuming is not done properly, if at all. It's unfortunate because they could have a really good thing going. It's a work town, not a tourist one, so maybe they figure that they'll get the business anyway because people need a place to stay. All I'm saying is that this time was brutal, and the management's lack of care or concern is really disappointing. For him to find that number of bugs on both the ground floor and as high as the 4th floor just paints a clear picture that the bugs have taken over. We won't be back. HE won't be back. They can definitely do better.
