Hinton Lodge

VERY nice hotel, real plates, cups, and silverware with a very nice breakfast and every table was full. Reception ladies were very helpful; definitely worth it, best price in Canada so far. We saw some big horn sheep on the way from Jasper.

I’m giving this hotel 2 stars only because the room was clean. The hotel itself is very old and run-down. We were given a ground-floor room, which meant cars were parked directly outside our window, offering no privacy at all. The biggest disappointment, however, was the breakfast. The hotel is quite large, yet the breakfast area has only nine tables, so there is often nowhere to sit. When I asked the receptionist where we were supposed to eat, she simply told us to take our breakfast back to our room. That’s honestly ridiculous. We eventually started going to breakfast after 9:00 a.m. because there were finally free tables. However, by 9:30 a.m. the staff had already started clearing everything away, making it very obvious that they wanted guests to leave because breakfast was ending. So you really have only two options: stand while you eat or rush through your breakfast before everything is taken away. Very disappointing. We would never stay here again.

We stayed at the Hinton Lodge for one night with our 20th anniversary motorcycle ride. The rooms were super clean and the hotel was well cared for. The staff were friendly. We originally thought we were going to stay in Jasper, AB, but because of the fires two summers ago, the hotels did not have much vacancy, and the prices were expensive.
