Place was cold upon arrival, my room had a broken chair and leaky shower.. was not well maintained. Parking in not great if you have a trailer. Check in lady was nice, but in the morning there was a rude Indian woman who immediately accosted me when I went to use the "free breakfast", thinking I came off the street to steal food 🤔

Gold Circle Inn is on the Yellowhead Highway in Lloyminster, a short walk from the state boundary markers. There is a Wendys a few yards away and Longbranch Steahhouse across the street amongst other restaurants within walking distance. Typical motel layout with plenty of parking. Reception was friendly and efficient. The room had dated furmiture but was clean. Bed comfortable. Plenty of hot water. Adequate towels and toiletries. Quiet night. Continental buffet breakfast. Items restocked regularly. Reasonable value for an overnight stop directly on the Yellowhead Highway.

We booked our stay through Expedia. We completed all of the details requested through Expedia, parents, 2 teenagers, 1 child (5). When we arrived we learned that our requested room with 2 double beds turned into 1 double bed and a twin. Then we experienced a surcharge direct from the hotel for our 5th guest. When we inquired about the bed sizing it was explained away as an "Expedia" issue. The surcharge for our 5th guest again explained away as an "Expedia" issue. When we requested to speak to a manager, the hotel clerk said, "they called the manager and there is nothing they can do". Manager was not on-site and could not be bothered with our 3 pm check-in to come and speak with us. Although the hotel clerk we dealt with was cordial, receptive and respectful to us and their manager, it was quite apparent to us they felt unsupported, even embarrassed about their limited ability to do the right thing for us.
