Painters Lodge Holiday And Fishing Resort - Seaview

We had a two night stay, reading all the bad reviews we were very pleased with our stay and cannot understand them. We had a room in one of the back buildings which was recently renovated. Shower(super), and bathroom was very modern with fluffy towels and shampoo etc..The bed was large and comfortable in fact we had three! I am a light sleeper and noise was minimal! The resort is in a fantastic setting and our first day there 13 killer whales passed by and then my wife had a run in with a bear up a pear tree outside our room!, Absolutely unreal experience and excitement! The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond what was expected of them! We would have no hesitation in staying here again!

Every single night, music was blaring. I was here from a Wednesday to Sunday. NO quiet hours. It’s a party place. One night guests next door were smoking pot. It was extremely strong. I had to close my balcony door. View amazing. But does me no good if I’m not sleeping. I did complain the morning after my first night. Did no good. I paid so much money and was stuck here 4 nights - got no sleep. I did have ear plugs. It didn’t matter. They cater to the party crowd. It’s 10 pm now and the music is blaring as I write this review. . MOST hotels. Or 99% have quiet hours. Can’t wait to finish this out and get back to peaceful nights.

One of the worst places I've stayed. Shortly after check-in, we went into the dining room for an early dinner. There were several signs saying Happy Hour from 2:30-5pm with all Draughts discounted. After a very mediocre meal, we requested the bill and noticed the discount hadn't been applied. The waitress argued that it wasn't in all Draughts (though clearly signed and also stated in the drinks menu. The rooms are very noisy, you can hear everyone upstairs. I suggest you try to get an upper room. The bedding had stains on the sheets. We tried to use the facilities to play a bit of tennis or badminton after dinner. There were 5 tennis rackets, all in quite poor condition, badminton birdies but no rackets. The pool and hot tub were fine, though not enough pool towels provided for the number of people using it. The next day, after being out all day, we returned at 8pm to find the room door ajar. Nothing appears to have been taken, but who knows how long this was open. Not happy at all given our passports, electronics, etc were in there, where we thought they would be safe. Would NOT recommend!
