Canadas Best Value Inn - Hope

One of the most disgusting places we have EVER stayed in. While reception was friendly , the room was an OMG moment. It was FILTHY - marks on the walls , crumbs on the bed sheets, empty containers on the counters , no cups but a coffee maker , sticky substances on bathroom floor , dirty shower curtain , serious dust bunnies on the floors , disgusting fan filters , disgusting toaster. When we went down , we were told we could move to another room but I had already showered. The response was " we are short staffed " If you are , then DONT RENT OUT THE ROOMS. Even the channel changer was sticky !

101 flies killed in the room, many more seen. Not a word of a lie, many photos attached. Absolutely disgusting and 0 remorse from staff. Their response was "you let them in". BS. They were in the sink drains, the toilet, the shower, the bed, the roof, the walls, and yea a ton on the door as well. They "graciously" moved us into another room at ~1am (we checked in right before their office closed at 11pm, after calling ahead to confirm that was okay). Which then had bloodstains all over a pillow (luckily we had brought a spare, and no time to deal with trying to call and move again at 2am) Asked for a partial refund (not a full one, and very nicely). Lady was extremely rude and started yelling about "no refunds" and it "being our fault for letting the flies in". Even though she said the last guy to stay there had the same problem. (HUGE RED FLAG) I would've been happy to even get $10 and an apology back, but she refused to acknowledge they did anything wrong, or to even come to the front office (where we were, during their open hours) to talk about (instead opting to yell at us, unprompted, over the phone like a child). Avoid this place if you value any semblance of cleanliness or honesty. Other places in Hope don't have this issue and cost the same.

A Motel with good location as the town of Hope is not so big. Staff are friendly and helpful. The motel itself is very worn and needs a refreshment and some air conditioning that works. Max 1 night stay, this is not a Motel I would enjoy staying in for several days.
