If you love a mouldy room with the allure of a crack house, this is the place for you! Absolutely DISGUSTING motel, stained peeling walls, damp carpet, mildew infused black curtains with a noisy aircon trying desperately to swirl the mildew stench… do not stay in this dump, it’s like a room they’d use in a horror movie.

I have stayed at Langley Hwy Hotel multiple times over the last 5 years, and my conclusion is a contrarian one: the subdued ratings of this hotel are, in my view, undeserved and very often based on "judging cow by the dung instead of the milk it gives". I give the hotel 4 stars for a whole bunch of essential reasons that I very often miss in "nice and tidy" expensive hotels. This little hotel has very good REAL advantages: there is stupid formalism that you encounter in so many expensive hotels, everything related to check-in, check-out and help quick, simple and friendly. Taking into account the unimaginably low price for one of the most expensive areas in areas in Canada, the hotel has an absolutely fantastic location for my taste. Anyone who wants to stop for a couple of nights in Langley (especially not go too close to the ugly monstrosity of Vancouver but still be in the surroundings of Vancouver where there are many main things to see and visit) will find that this hotel is just a few minutes from the Trans Canada highway - you get it immediately after taking your exit from the highway. But it is located in an area pretty well packed with all kinds of breakfast facilities, eateries, little stores etc. Despite the totally bustling urban area it is situated in, the hotel itself is located marvelously in "hidden pocket of park": it stays around 100 m from the streets, and "sunk" into a marvelous little park of Big Cedars - you can't even see or expect that this park exist when driving the nearby streets. Because of that, it is really QUIET, no noise, and the park itself, for me, creates coziness and protection from the urban hustle and bustle. For me the location wonderfully secluded and intimate - but all the urban amenities just a 5 min walk away. The hotel needs some "cosmetic" investment, but everything is FUNCTIONAL and present - I can give a big list of how many super expensive hotels in cities like Toronto or Vancouver I visited where "cosmetics" are good and the freaking water or toilet doesn't. No way it can happen here that you book and pay for a room for a family and then they tell you that we don't have that room, basically just playing games, or that they will charge you for the internet separately, after charging you already 300 a night etc - those things that happened to me in the most "reputable" expensive hotels. The potential of this hotel with its location is high - it has a room for development, but it is MUCH better, in my view, than those ratings I see based on form not on substance.

Dingy hotel with questionable people hanging around in parking lot. Booked a "deluxe queen" room, shown a standard double bed room instead, last one left they claimed. But one look at property and it didn't matter, found another hotel for night and lost the money I had prepaid for room.
