Poets Cove Resort And Spa

Although the location is stunning, we were disappointed from the start. The welcome was half hearted cordial. We arrived at 1pm, too early for check in, and were told “I’ll call you” when our room was ready. That never happened and at 3:30 we went to the lobby only to find that several parties had checked in and the desk clerk we spoke with had left for the day. The sunset was beautiful from our balcony, but tough to enjoy due to the extremely loud table of drunks at the outdoor dining area. Both nights, for two+ hours. We left the door handle card for maid service in the morning and went for breakfast (mediocre with sullen service) and when we returned it had been flipped to do not disturb. We corrected it, informed the front desk that we indeed wished maid service and left for the day. Upon return at 4 pm our room was not cleaned. It never was. The staff were never rude but they did not seem at all content or interested in being friendly. Dinner was nothing special. We would not return, especially at those prices.

I travelled a long distance expecting a peaceful, relaxing resort experience, but unfortunately that wasn’t what I found. Despite clear signs stating the upper pool is for adults (19+) only, there were numerous children screaming, running, and jumping into the pool while splashing guests trying to relax. There was no apparent enforcement of the adults-only policy. I specifically travelled without my own children to enjoy a quiet getaway, yet the atmosphere felt more like a busy water park than a resort and spa. That said, the resort itself is beautiful, well maintained, and the staff were pleasant. If the adults-only areas were properly enforced and I could be confident of a peaceful, relaxing experience, I would definitely return.

Multi- generation trip to celebrate a milestone birthday and we couldn't be happier with this resort. We stayed in a combination of cottage and marina. Having a dedicated hot tub at the cottage was such a treat! Very friendly and attentive staff. Resort was clean and in such a breath taking location. Put this on your bucket list for a quintessential Canadian stay.
