Marine Inn

Had to make an unexpected stay in Powell River. It’s a small town so choices are limited. Booked Waterways last minute. It appears to be an older property that was refurbished into a “boutique” hotel. By all appearances, it fits into a more mainstream 3 star hotel as I didn’t find anything special about it. There were families with small screaming kids, which I don’t expect at all “boutique” hotel. Probably with limited hotel choices in town, families book where they can. Friendly greeting at the front desk and they required a $200 deposit on my cc. I found the hallway on the 2nd floor narrow and the 2 queen room was tight for space around the bed. With upgrades I would have expected newer windows but they just had single pane glass. However, the room was clean and the shower with actual large bottles of body wash & shampoo was nice. Rain shower head and hand held head as well. Nice location very close to the ferry dock and downtown restaurant area. Limited parking so you have to park on the street if you can’t get a spot. Probably wouldn’t stay here if I’m ever in town again.

Amazing location. Walk to the beach and great local restaurants. Very clean and showers were hot and amazing. Gentleman at the desk was professional and very helpful. Area at night felt totally safe. Rooms very clean and looked new.

This hotel is basic and adequate: clean and comfortable beds and staff are friendly. It was renovated recently. It is close to the ferry terminal, so you can hear people driving off and on, and you can hear people in the hallways if they are talking but mostly it was fairly quiet at night. Rooms have a mini fridge. I found the cleaning products they used had a very strong chemical smell which put me off a bit.
