Northwood Motor Inn

This was a great find! Admittedly, I did not have a good first impression driving into the hotel, when I realized that the building was shared with a liquor store and a tavern. My impression changed however once I saw my room. It was a large room (two rooms in fact!) which is almost unheard of in an economy hotel. Although some of the room’s furnishings looked a little tired, the room was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. I’ve stayed in franchise/chain hotels with far less comfortable beds, and paid a lot more. Staff were friendly and the check-in very straightforward. This was a really good find for the price paid, and would definitely stay here again if visiting the Prince George area. One thing to note - the hotel rooms all seem to be on the second floor and are accessible by stairs only. I didn’t see an elevator around. While this was no problem for me, it’s something to keep in mind if you are travelling with someone who has mobility challenges.

We were travelling through PG on the way home to Vancouver and needed a place to stay for the night. I booked this on Airbnb because it looked decent, but driving up to it I was surprised. It's on the highway to Dawson Creek in a bit of a deserted place. There were a bunch on middle aged men drinking in the parking lot. You have to leave your car in this area and walk up a couple of floors to your room. We decided to not stay because our car was full of camping gear and we didn't trust it would all be there when the night was over.

Nice place. Comfortable beds and clean. Friendly staff. No elevator for upstairs rooms that I saw. Lounge serves pub food and will deliver to your room. Located a little north of downtown so, not much else close by.
