August Jack Motor Inn

This was the perfect place for our two night stay in Squamish. The staff was super friendly, we had a fast check in and helpful dinner recommendations. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. Our kitchenette was unexpected and great. Lots of parking. Close to lots of great cafes and restaurants.

I stayed for several nights. Below are my impressions and personal opinions of the motel. While my overall stay was ok, I found it to be too expensive. It’s an older property that has been renovated. It is very clean, but my room smelled of cigarette smoke and it was challenging to get through the first night. A small sachet of potpourri is not going to help. The bathroom vanity is very small if you have a lot of items. My room had two beds. One of the beds had a big dip in it and needs to be replaced. Parking is good. Access to restaurants and shops is excellent. Coffee and some small edibles are available in the morning. Guy at front desk was pleasant but he never showed recognition that he’d seen me before when I popped in a couple of times. It’s a nice feeling when staff do recognize your face.

I wouldn't likely stay here again if it was more than one night, but it was affordable, clean, and was a great location for walking downtown. The only reason it wouldn't appeal to me for longer is it has that .misty older hotel smell mixed with strong odors that are trying to mask it. People were great and for the price it was a good deal in terms of a room.
