Truth be told I would probably give 3½ stars but I'll "round up". This is a fairly standard mid-tier lodging. There is nothing special about it, but it provided a clean and comfortable stay at a price much more affordable than hotels within the city limits of Vancouver. During off-peak traffic, it is about a 40-minute drive from downtown Vancouver. It is definitely a viable option for Vancouver visitors on a budget who do not mind commuting into the city for their Vancouver activities.
The hotel checked all the important boxes if you're mainly just looking for a comfortable place to sleep as opposed to a "hotel experience": it was clean, felt secure, had a comfortable bed with nice bedding, was quiet, had attractive and inviting common areas including the lobby, and technology worked fine (TV, Wi-Fi). Employees were friendly and efficient. A spacious in-room refrigerator was nice, though I would have appreciated a small freezer compartment to refreeze my ice blocks. The parking lot (free parking) seemed to be safe and had adequate capacity.
The hotel has a small fitness center, with an elliptical machine, exercise bike, and treadmill. Towels and water are provided at the fitness center. It was extremely warm in the fitness center, so I opened the window (my stay was in July, but it was pleasantly cool outside during my morning workout, so opening the window let in some cool air).
I appreciated that the hotel had two elevators; sometimes smaller properties like this have only one and that means it can take forever to wait for the elevator (usually I opt for the stairs, except when luggage is involved). Strangely, though, both elevators had their own up and down buttons; I assume most guests probably push the buttons for both, thereby minimizing the efficiency that two elevators working together should provide.
Two small glitches were as follows. These are no big deal, but small imperfections like this call into question the property's commitment to maintenance and "having things right". It's all part of cultivating an image.
(1) the toilet seat would not remain up by itself, so I (a male) would need to hold it up when taking care of "small business", eventually I figured I could drape a towel over the tip of the seat when it was in the up position, and that would hold it there.
(2) the bathroom door would not stay open on its own; I was able to prop it open using the closet door opposite the bathroom door.
If I were to return to the area, I would consider staying here again. But I would not go out of my way to stay here again.

This is a very very basic hotel. They don’t give milk or cream for coffee. Offer no breakfast. The male at the reception was short with me over the phone, telling me to come to get my package at reception, right now. And when my husband had a let meeting and could r get back until one pm I was told to wait in the lobby. I was offered a one hour extension, but needed two. My husband needed to change out of his business clothes. I was told he could change in the public washroom. This was a 5 night stay. When I hadn’t vacated the room, waiting for housekeeping to knock, the male at the desk again called the room and lectured me. He essentially told me to leave immediately, he was gracious enough to give and hour extra and I was unwelcome now. We stay at a hotel every other week for 5-7 days. Essentially half the year. We would never return to this hotel. Also, it is difficult to get any needs met because the housekeeping staff at that time, did t speak English. No issues with that, but it makes customer service difficult.
