Club Intrawest - Vancouver

Enhance your holiday by staying here. How pleased were we that we booked this accommodation. From checking in at the Sheraton Wall reception, to going to the Embarc private lounge to wait for our room, then walking into our apartment. What a joy. Location - perfect. View - 29th floor, amazing. Apartment - sensational.

Arrived from the airport via Uber at around 9pm after a 10 hour flight. Uber dropped us at the hotels registered/advertised address - 1001 Hornby Street. It was cold, raining and we had several cases and bags. The doors were locked and we couldn’t access the hotel. There was a ‘push here for assistance’ button, but no one responded. Another couple arrived - they couldn’t access the building either. After about 15 minutes a third couple arrived with hotel room keys they were able to use for us all to gain access to the building. Escalator was turned off/ not working. We took the elevator to reception - receptionist told us that this happens all the time and blamed the Uber driver. I pointed out the driver had dropped us at the address we gave him (from the hotel’s website) and next to the hotel sign that says ‘Embarc’. I don’t see how this is the Uber driver’s fault and if it happens often perhaps the hotel should provide a fix. We checked in, went to the room, tried to order room service but the QR code on the info sheet doesn’t work. Today we tried to use the pool/spa. One spa is not working. The other had eight people in it. We waited, came back an hour later and there was now nine different people in the only working spa so we gave up. All in all a pretty poor experience. We’re here for another couple of days so it’ll be interesting to see if someone from hotel management contacts us to discuss this very average at best experience.

Very nice hotel at reasonable prices. The rooms have perfect views and facilities, especially the extremely helpful staff. Zahir Negaz took his time and helped us to find our car in the TG, because when you drive in for the first time nothing is signposted, so you stand iwo. If you come from behind into the lobby and read only Wall and not Embarc everywhere, the orientation is gone, especially since there are 2 areas in blue color;) So thank you again to Zahir for the support!!!
