Charlotte from Tavern United was an excellent t served with great food selections. Suraj and Valerie were helpful at the front desk. The place has Canadian charm, great breakfast value and a fab water slide for the family!

Where should I begin….we have stayed here numerous times before but this time was something you wouldn’t believe. We were here for our daughter’s softball provincials so we had booked the Friday and Saturday night. When we returned to our room on Saturday evening our key card wouldn’t work. So I went down to the front desk to ask for a new one. I was told that we had checked out that morning at 11am (impossible since we were nowhere near the hotel at 11am). Then I was told that the housekeepers had gone into our room and packed up all of our belongings and they were waiting behind the desk. When I asked why somebody didn’t call me they lied and told me I had been called twice. No record of a phone call, text or voicemail on my phone. I was then told there were no other rooms available (also a lie) and there was nothing they could do for me. Meanwhile our entire team was waiting for us to join them for a team dinner that we had planned at the hotel. We went through our things that they had packed up and found that we were missing the $40 worth of salads from our fridge for the team dinner (I guess they forgot to pack those up). When we went to explain the situation to the softball families one of the dads went downstairs to address the situation. Miraculously, they found us a room for the night. When we went to go to bed that night, we were missing two pairs of pyjamas and a pair of sandals. When we brought that up to the manager at the front desk she basically called us liars and said that everything was packed up from the room. From looking at the reviews, it would appear that we are not the only ones who had items “disappear” and told that was not possible. I will say that the front desk staff was very sorry that this happened and I felt like they really didn’t know what to do. Our team was given free buffet breakfast the following morning, which was very kind. What I didn’t like the most was the violation of somebody going into our room without at least a phone call or text and packing all of our personal belongings up and then calling us liars that there were items missing.

So at check in we had some problems to start, our plane had been canceled to delays on our connecting flights so I contacted the hotel to inform them that we was going to very late in morning or early depending on on the way you look at it, so we ended up pulling up to the hotel at around 3:30-4AM I was then told that the room was canceled but they was able to fix it, the front desk girl was very hard to understand. We ended up having to miss our first night as our flight was completely cancelled out of the country, so we needed to book another night after so we didn’t have to jump right up and leave. This is where it seemed to be a problem I had to give another deposit for the same room we were staying in we got a 2 queen bed room. Also had to provide a rate that I was already paying for to get the same rate beforehand. So after all this I am now offered a upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite for 40 a night but then tells me that for the first night the other night would be 230 roughly at this point I just want to go to bed I then just asked for the keys and will come in the morning to discuss with another person. We get to the room there was no way that a party of four could be comfortable in this room it was very small but had the two beds, I was just done for the night and tried to get some rest, This is where it definitely got better I went to the front desk again with a new person working which he was so awesome on handling what I needed which was the upgrade to the 2 bedroom suite he was totally understanding and gave it to us for a small cost and was able to move my family over right away. This was great customer service I even tipped him! The room was great the place even looked a lot better than the last time we stayed and we stay here all the time when we come into town! Thank you to the front desk clerk for being an awesome person that morning and hashed everything out for us! We will definitely be back!
