CANAD INNS GARDEN CITY

We stayed here in December before this we stayed at Canad inn Transcona, We had a much better stay here then the week before at Transcona. Our room was great even had a fire place but it wasn't working ( the reason for 4 stars instead of 5), when we stayed we did report it to the front staff at check-out. Parking was fine always had a spot, We did enjoy the lounge. Front desk staff was friendly. Noise was the issue at the other hotel and our room here was nice quite. We normally stay at Canad inns when we come to the city and even with a little more of a drive to anywhere we most likely will return to have another stay at this fine establishment.

We stayed at this hotel for my daughter’s dance competition as it was 2 minutes away. The first night we arrived, we went into the pool. Our eyes were burning the entire time and then we noticed our suits were ruined. We immediately alerted the pool staff as well as the front desk that there must be an issue. They offered us a $10 breakfast voucher but was not really apologetic. My daughter's suit was only purchased 4 weeks ago and it was $30. That evening my daughter developed a migraine and was vomiting. I too was nauseous and had a headache. She had to shower as her skin was irritated so badly. It took maintenance until late the next day to close the pool, meanwhile they left it open for patrons to go in like normal. That weekend was meant to be a relaxing bonding time with my daughter. Instead it ended with our personal belongings ruined and my daughter ill. I understand things happen, but I feel we were not taken seriously and there was no accountability by the hotel.

upon arriving at Canad Inns, Garden City we were notified the Pool Area was Closed. I advised them we booked this location for this reason. We were not offered to transfer us to another location ( polo park, or Pembina Highway) as i was disappointed and told the clerk this . i would of booked at a less expensive hotel without a pool area instead of paying $156.00 for a place to sleep. we were in from Out of Town for Medical appointments and the Pool area was relevant to this. Will not choose this Hotel Chain again. they did not offer a resolution, not even adding to the CanAdvantage rewards to rectify this as Guests!
