Ramada Winnipeg Hotel- Viscount-Gort

Terrible experience. Robin the bartender was rude and rascist to my girlfriend . Complained to front desk asked for a manager to respond. That never happened.on check out front desk said..you're good to go. No thank you no follow up. AVOID hotel dumpy smelly hallway very rude staff.

The hotel seemed on the verge of closure. Two out of three elevators did not work, the corridors are dirty and unkempt . I do not think they even vacuum them anymore. The bedrooms are ok and spacious. The mattress sagged in the middle. There was only one overloaded wall socket for the computer lamp and TV! The foyer was not well kept tables and seats had debris and streaks indicating poor cleaning practices. I would never stay there again. WiFi did not work Not a good experience at all

The Viscount Gort doesn't look the best from the outside: it was dark and looked almost abandoned when I arrived, the car park is a little uneven and the spaces seem a little tight, but inside it's much better and the staff at check in were welcoming. The room was very clean and comfortable, with a clean vinyl floor instead of an old carpet, and all the amenities such as the coffee machine, fridge, TV etc were all fine. The bathroom was clean and the shower pressure was good with plenty of hot water. There weren't many (any?) outlets to plug in electrical devices though - I think I had to unplug a lamp. The restaurant was very quiet for breakfast, but the food was great and the service excellent. As this is on the 2nd floor, there is a nice view over Route 1. It's also open for lunch (didn't visit) but for dinner you have to try the limited menu in the sports bar off the lobby. The Viscount Gort is sandwiched between two highways, so it is in a convenient location and its only a 10 minute drive from the airport: unfortunately you do need to drive round a bit of a circle to get on Route 1 West or Route 90 North or South. Despite this, there was no traffic noise overnight. Unfortunately, there was a fire in an elevator when i was there (the elevators did seem a little cramped and rickety), so this meant I had to walk down 6 flights with the luggage to check out. Assuming this is now fixed, I would happily return!
