Comfort Inn Bathurst

I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past, however, I would no longer recommend this location to anyone. The outside of the hotel is unkept and rundown. The weeds and grass have not been touched all year by the look of it. There was garage, old coffee cups and beer cans around the outside of the hotel. On this stay I arrived on a Friday and left on a Sunday and none of this was touched the entire time I was there. There was what appeared to be dried dog poop by the exterior of our room. There were stains on the carpet in various parts of the room. The shower was dirty enough, that neither of us would use it. There was a long enough wait for somebody to show up to get checked in, not that there were other customers, just nobody at the counter. Position side: the beds were usual Comfort Inn quality and were comfortable, the hotel was quiet.

We refused our 1st room (#136) upon entering it. It smelled of dampness, mold, and urine. The carpet was soiled and stained. We did not examine the rest... We requested another room that seemed much better. It appeared clean and the smell was acceptable. But we quickly noticed several problems: Sink and bathtub clogged (the water drained but very slowly), fridge not working and no hand soap. When we opened the bed sheets, there were blood stains on them and even though the bed had been made, the sheets did not seem to have been changed... We requested that the sheets be changed, there was no maintenance service. It was the young man at the front desk who brought us other bedding and helped us remake the bed. The floors in the corridors and entrances were also generally dirty. The service from the young man at the front desk was impeccable and the breakfast was good. This is the reason for the 2 stars. Otherwise it would be 0 stars... This establishment is not representative of our other stays in this hotel chain.

It was dirty. Went for breakfast, no preparation done, worker was late. Horrible experience.
