Excellent location. Close to the train station & the concert at the Piece hall. Greeted warmly by Jackie at the bar who quickly took me through how to access the hotel part and sorted out a room for me. If I had a complaint it would be that the floors are super squeaky. Not a shock when you consider the age of the building. Room was homely in a pleasant way, much better than a characterless chain hotel. Clean, warm and quiet (apart from the floor). The double bed was comfy, ensuite was basic but functional. Check out was a breeze, just pop the key in the box.

Stayed here to split up a Manchester Leeds trip as it's much cheaper and has great transport links. The land lady was very helpful and let me check in early fre of charge. Great location and value for money, a proper old school no nonsense pub, great to see they still exist. Will deffo stay again!
