Kaisar Guest House

Budget accommodation in the heart of Old Toronto. Friendly hosts. This was my second stay here. Right at a street car stop. One block from Kensington Market. Bright room with a private bathroom. Fridge in the kitchen to store our food to save money. I love it!

Loved the location of the Guest House. Right on the edge of Kensington Market neighbourhood, Chinatown, Little Italy and Downtown TO, which are all walkable distances, (Downtown is about 2 km away). It's on a major street, so the streetcars are just outside the door and so it's easy to connect to the subway stations or GO and UP trains. The Guest House itself is a bit rough around the edges, a definite 1-star hotel, just the bare necessities. So good for a few nights stay. All I needed for my 2 night stay was a place to sleep and take a shower at the end of the day, which Kaisar Guest House was competently able to supply. My room was large, clean and well maintained; the bed was comfortable. Shower had hot water and good water pressure. The time I was there, it was quiet all night. (Some foot stomps in the morning, but nothing too disruptive). To stay in downtown Toronto is very expensive and often the asking price is outrageously high for just a decent place to stay. Kaisar Guest House was reasonably price (large, clean, secure room with private bathroom) near downtown Toronto.

It's not for everyone, but this was a great place for us with our budget. Best location ever. Secure. Clean. Great prices. Friendly staff. It's got everything we needed at a bargain price. It includes an efficient shared kitchen so we could "eat in" to save money, and an in-house laundromat so we could conveniently do our own laundry. We had a private bathroom and a good sized bed. And to top it off, the College St. streetcar stopped right outside our door! We will be back.
