Residence & Conference Centre - Oakville

Very good value for money, well located to discover the area and Oakville Place shopping center is within walking distance. The fact that there are 2 bedrooms is very nice with children. The rooms are spacious, but the beds are double but not queen. As it is a university residence, there is no Breakfast Service, but a large refrigerator and microwave.

We stayed at the Sheridan campus residence for a week while visiting family in Oakville. It was a great, affordable option and the double room suite was perfect for a family of 4. The double beds were comfortable with okay bedding. Each bedroom was very spacious with a desk and shelving and chairs. The towels were a bit thin and institutional, and bathroom lacked hooks/shelving but was a good size (shower only). We were glad for the kitchen area with sink, fridge and microwave in the unit, and mostly prepared food there. We brought our own coffee maker and borrowed a toaster. We had brought pots but were dismayed at how far the kitchen on our floor was from our unit. The whole building is a giant C shape, and we were at one end and everything situated at the other end on our floor (it felt like a ton of walking). We used the communal kitchen once, but it was crowded due to a group using it. It had 2 stoves, a fridge, and a couple of small tables, but not conducive to cooking then transporting everything back to the unit. The games room was on our floor, with ping pong and pool table, but it was booked by the group and not available for everyone else's use some of the time (would have been nice to be forewarned on arrival that it was not available). Great laundry room on every floor. Wifi was good and easy to use. The parking was included, but located pretty far away- we often dropped half the group off at the entrance with groceries rather than walk from parking. Front desk staff were welcoming and well informed.

We found this property because I needed to attend a meeting in Hamilton and all rooms were taken in the city due to the Canada Open being held in town. Otherwise we would probably never get to know this wonderful property. This is a very basic unit with two rooms and a common area with a full size fridge and microwave. The property is part of a college campus and is actually use as a dorm when the college is in session. If you’re a thrifty traveler that only needs an affordable, safe, clean and well located property this is your place. There are plenty of hiking trails to get your exercise and the property is located within walking distance to a convenience store, fast food, restaurants and public transportation. Two blocks away is a mall with every thing you may need. An urgent care facility is also a block away. The public transportation is bountiful, Uber, buses, taxis, etc. There are also bountiful places to sightseeing. This is more like a hostel setting than a hotel so don’t expect the “luxuries” of a standard hotel, you won’t get the high prices either. The staff is very accommodating, I made the error and reserved two rooms and they alongside with Hotels.com assisted me in taking care of my mistake to my advantage. If you want a family vacation with low costs, this is absolutely your place as you can accommodate four and have basic items for breakfast and to snack. We’re planning a leisurely visit to Canada in the near future and most definitely stay at this property.
