Hotel & Spa Carré Saint-Louis offers a comfortable stay overall. The room was on the smaller side, but it was well laid out and had everything we needed. Breakfast was plentiful and a nice way to start the day, with good variety and quality. Service throughout the hotel was good—staff were courteous and helpful. The main disappointment was the spa. We booked based on a friend’s previous stay, during which spa access was included. Unfortunately, that was not the case for us. Access was an additional $50 per person for three hours, so we chose not to go. Overall, it’s a pleasant hotel with solid service, but the extra cost for the spa was disappointing and should be clearer at booking.

Pros… great location close to transit & in a very walkable neighborhood. Excellent massage & staff at check out. I briefly used the spa circuit and it was comped since I didn’t stay long. Allowed to store luggage safely and gave info about places to go in the area. Very accommodating at check out which is appreciated. All in all was fine for one night but I’d ask for different room choice. Photos on line did not reflect room we had . Cons… not all rooms are the same. Cramped, tv did not work, quirky layout. Room was stuffy w/o climate control I’d asked reception if there were different rooms or a higher floor available and the female clerk was curt and said no.

I can’t evaluate your rooms, as our experience stopped at Welcoming, due to an unpleasant, arrogant and dishonest manager. We had booked a first night via Booking and a second by phone to extend our stay in Montreal, for my party and my firearms class. The employee on the phone had confirmed that everything was settled. Upon arrival, we learned that the second night had never been added to our file. Rather than trying to understand, the manager was aggressive, condescending and constantly defensive, cutting off the floor and implying that we were mentioning. The way she spoke to my pregnant spouse was particularly misogynistic and contemptuous — a mocking smile, an arrogant tone, and inappropriate words beyond what one would expect from a school official. Never have I been treated with such disrespect and human coldness. This manager showed wanton meanness and a total lack of empathy, turning an administrative error into public humiliation. As a result, we had to leave without accommodation, miss an important event and cancel our birthday weekend. One word to describe our experience with this manager: ARK.
